Marvel’s Loki episode 2, “The Variant,” wastes absolutely no time. And like some of the best Marvel TV efforts, the Easter eggs and references are numerous, but not all of them are obvious. In fact, a lot of them don’t even necessarily pertain to the MCU! Loki is having fun with genre, TV formulas, and the very notions of time travel itself, so looking to the pages of Marvel Comics isn’t quite enough....
Now, some are already suggesting that Venom is the one narrating that new trailer, but based on the accent and dialog, it seems more likely that’s actually an unseen Kraven the Hunter. Besides, there’s a voice change at the end that seems to clearly signify that Venom is now speaking. Oh, and if that voice sounded familiar to you, that’s because Venom is being voiced by none other than the legendary Tony Todd....

That’s at least the tone, and all because Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which has made more than $700 million worldwide in just two weeks of release (more than the first Doctor Strange’s total box office haul) is somehow a failure....

Now, in another house of cards-y move, Netflix is rolling out a very major change to its subscriber acquisition strategy. As first noticed by The TV Answer Man and subsequently confirmed by EW, Netflix is no longer offering a 30-day free trial to new U.S. subscribers. The Leftovers Where to watch: HBO Max Like Hellbound, The Leftovers is an existential drama that starts with an incomprehensible, potentially divine metaphysical event. In Hellbound, it is the realization that creatures that seem a lot like angels and demons exist and are coming to kill people. In The Leftovers, it is the sudden disappearance of 2% of the world’s population. Lesser shows—or at least more plot-driven shows—would focus on explaining the supernatural phenomena that start it all....
While viewers often cheer for Love and Joe to get away with murder, these types of kills are especially sweet. When bad things happen to bad people, the vigilante justice in You can certainly be electrifying to watch. That’s not to say that Joe or Love are heroes of any kind.
