She-Hulk Episode 7 Part of the appeal of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is that it so wholeheartedly embraces its sitcom format. So, we probably shouldn’t be surprised that this week’s installment opens with a kind of adorable dating montage where we get to see Jen get all giddy about finally going out with that nice guy Josh she met at her friend’s wedding last week. But, because this is also a Marvel show with supervillains in it, maybe we should have known that there was more going on here than just a cute date....

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Episode 3 In Star Wars, as in most other media, the main character may not be the most creative figure but does need to be the one who grows and changes. Luke Skywalker went from farm boy to full-fledged Jedi Knight between A New Hope and Return of the Jedi; Anakin Skywalker became literally unrecognizable over the course of two trilogies. For now, the characters of The Bad Batch remind me of Luke at the end of A New Hope: their triumphs and foes are compelling, but they haven’t really gestured toward a path to dramatic change yet....

But if Andor‘s Fiona Shaw is to be believed, the series will also separate itself from other Disney+ shows in a more substantial way: “Our world is exploding in different places right now, people’s rights are disappearing, and Andor reflects that,” the actor told Empire Magazine. For Shaw, this quality comes from showrunner Tony Gilroy, who also directed extensive reshoots for Rogue One. “Tony has written a great, scurrilous [take] on the Trumpian world,” Shaw declared....

This isn’t promising. As a TV show, Strike‘s appeal has never been the ingenuity of its cases, with their cardboard characters, pantomime twists and baroque plotting. Supergirl Season 3 Episode 8 We were promised a more serialized crossover, and “Crisis on Earth X Part 1” delivers on that front. In past crossovers, there was a clear “home court advantage” so to speak. That is to say, while the characters concerned with the main action appeared throughout the crossover, each episode generally took on the characteristics of the show the time slot belonged to. There were also usually side characters who only got to participate when their show’s episode brought the action into their orbit, whether physically or otherwise....

Not as memorable as the classic HBO series it spun off from, Tales from the Cryptkeeper was aimed at the young whippersnappers who had the balls to wake up early enough on Saturday morning to face the horror-themed parables that the mischievous ancient corpse would throw their way. Therefore, no, it wasn’t really that scary. Creepy? Sometimes. Amusing? Also sometimes. Annoying? More often than you’d think, but that’s mostly because of the voice acting....

The 100 Season 4 Episode 3 “The Four Horsemen” gave us great character development for Indra and Octavia, showed Raven struggle with her new role as a decision maker, and moves up the timeline for the disaster, to add a sense of urgency that has been hard to feel so far this season. We also got a nice revelation at the end that simultaneously deepened Grounder culture and gave us hope for our characters’ future....

The 100 Season 5 Episode 7 This season of The 100 can’t decide which is the bigger heartbreak: the people who have changed so much, or those who are exactly the same. For all that time in space, Echo is still that Azgeda spy, betraying Raven (through Shaw) to get what she wants. Abby is still addicted and Kane is still a martyr, though I continue to be pleasantly surprised at the way the show is convincingly arguing for the concept of maintaining functionality versus trying to get high....

One of the most curious of these abandoned projects is a script written by Bob Gale. Fresh off of co-creating and co-writing Back to the Future with Robert Zemeckis, Gale’s script did a more than adequate job of bringing Strange to life. The problem — well one of them — was that any attempts to tell Doctor Strange’s story in a way that would respect the character would require a big budget, something that was unlikely in the pre-Batman era (Superman not withstanding, and even the Man of Steel suffered on production values — just check out Superman IV: The Quest for Peace)....
