If you’ve been reading comics your entire life, you probably know how two Batmen from different movie universes can exist on the same screen. But if you’re just learning about the multiverse for the first time now thanks to The Flash or Loki, you might be as confused about what the hell is going as Keaton was while reading Christina Hodson’s script for the upcoming DC movie. “I had to read it more than three times to go, ‘Wait, how does this work?...

In that time, The Flash movie has gone through countless of release date shifts, several directors, even more script drafts, and at least a couple of changes of focus. But now it appears to be back to adapting the Flashpoint story from the comics, where Barry Allen learns how to use his speed to travel back in time and prevent the murder of his mother…a noble intention that causes all kinds of ripple effects in the timeline, and will give DC movie fans their first glimpse of the company’s famed multiverse....

Based on a script by DeMonaco and once again under the Blumhouse roof, The Forever Purge is directed by Everardo Gout best known for Days of Grace and his work on National Geographic sci-fi Mars. Den of Geek got a sneaky early look at the explosive trailer for the movie and chatted to Gout, who broke down the action for us. That was the moment they knew their idea would work. Trying out for his part, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson (Game Of Thrones, The Last Kingdom) had filmed himself performing a scene in which his character is taken over by a teenage shapeshifter....

Freedom. That’s what Cecilia Kass finally achieves during the last moments of Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man. With her face isolated in an extreme close-up, there is nowhere for audiences to look other than into the heart of Elisabeth Moss’ eviscerating performance. Here is a woman who had been victimized by an abusive boyfriend but has now turned the tables, emancipating herself from Adrian Griffin (Oliver Jackson-Cohen). With her dog at last in tow, she can begin her life as the hero of her own story....

Kusama’s latest effort, The Invitation, is a return to form even if it’s very different from her earlier films. Surprisingly, it’s also written by Aeon Flux writers Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay. It starts innocently enough as we watch Will (Logan Marshall-Green) and his wife Kira (Emayatzy Corinealdi) driving to a dinner party being thrown by his ex-wife Eden (Tammy Blanchard) and her new husband David (Michiel Huisman), whom they haven’t seen in years....

Netflix’s The Last Kingdom approaches fidelity to Bernard Cornwell’s Saxon Stories in much the same way that Cornwell’s novels approach fidelity to historical fact – as inspiration, not obligation. Both prioritise their own storytelling over slavish adherence to source material, and so wind different paths towards the same destinations. Kings die and battles are fought, but exactly when, where, how, and who the casualties are, can vary. Season five and Book 10 The Flame Bearer both end with Uhtred having regained his ancestral seat of Bebbanburg....

As is usually the case when these casting announcements are made, there are some fans who remain unconvinced that these are the right choices for two of gaming’s most iconic characters. Some of that doubt is stems from the parade of big names that have been associated with these roles in the past (including Mahershala Ali and Maisie Williams), but others simply don’t think that this pair has what it takes....

The opening episode of The Lincoln Lawyer sets the tone for the series right away. We see Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), fresh out of a stint in rehab, getting hounded by his assistant/ex-wife Lorna (Becki Newton) to get down to the courthouse because he has a big meeting with Mary Holder (LisaGay Hamilton), the senior judge of Los Angeles County. He’s not prepared for the meeting, doesn’t know what it’s about, but he takes it because he has no other choice and Mickey Haller is smart enough and quick enough to land on his feet no matter what gets thrown at him....

“The Believer” takes Mando deep into enemy territory. With the help of dubious mercenary Migs Mayfeld (Bill Burr), Mando infiltrates an Imperial rhydonium refinery on the planet Morak in order to find the coordinates to Moff Gideon‘s cruiser. The plan seems simple enough: go undercover as Imperial troopers, get into the refinery, download the coordinates from a terminal, and get the hell out of there. But things never go quite as planned in The Mandalorian....

Now, almost 20 years after the end of the original trilogy, how do we describe The Matrix Resurrections, a legacy sequel that’s at once a nostalgic look back at 1999 as well as a standalone continuation of Revolutions? Simply put: this is a love story, within an action movie, within a meta exploration of our obsession with nostalgia. If Lana Wachowski’s love letter to Neo, Trinity, and Morpheus is guilty of anything, it’s that at times it is too ambitious for its own good and can’t quite stick the landing in the third act....

20th Century Fox will, at long last, release The New Mutants on Digital HD and Blu-ray on Tuesday, November 17. The Marvel Comics adaptation film, directed by Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars), who co-wrote the script with Knate Lee, became one of the few post Q1 2020 movies that saw a big screen release, having hit theaters on August 28; a run that currently tallies at $42 million worldwide, obviously impeded by the limited number of theaters still operating and their necessary reduced capacity....

“Geese and goats and Schrutes and hijinks at the Bed and Breakfast” is how Rainn Wilson, the actor behind The Office‘s Dwight K. Schrute, summed up proposed spin-off The Farm, which never went beyond its pilot episode. Speaking to fans on a Reddit AMA back in 2012, Wilson called the Dwight-focussed show a terrific, weird yet accessible rural family comedy. Had it been ordered to series, it would have told the story of the Dunder Mifflin paper salesman running a 1,600 acre farm and B&B with his brother and sister....

The Orville Season 1 Episode 11 In one of the most balanced episodes of The Orville, the writers managed to give full service to more than one character development arc while still delivering an utterly unique storyline packed with heart-pounding action, admirably cogent techno-babble, and a skillfully embedded metaphor referring back to what the characters of focus were going through. Together with its fun humor and heartfelt dialogue, “New Dimensions” ranks high among the season one episodes leading into the finale....

The Simpsons Season 32 Episode 10 It’s beginning to look a lot like Dominion Day in “A Springfield Summer Christmas for Christmas.” That’s a Canadian holiday which falls in July, as Springfield passes for Canada passing for small-town America in The Simpsons season 32, episode 10. This is a festive dismantling of yuletide cheer. The episode tells the heartwarming story of the making of a Christmas movie. The “Heartmark Channel” sends Mary Tannenbaum (Ellie Kemper), its top candidate to head their Homemaker Mysteries Division, to save A Christmas Ornament for Christmas....

If you’re with the show this far you will recall that Catherine, a former patient of Joe’s who accused him of sexual assault in the past, but withdrew the complaint, was found murdered on the same day that Joe and his family were visiting the cementary where her body was dumped. Joe proceeded to act extremely suspiciously, withholding fact after fact from detectives Ruiz (Shaun Parkes) and Devi (Anjli Mohindra), and with a lot of circumstantial evidence stacked against him he immediately became the prime suspect....
