It had a billion plot threads, a dozen villains, twice as many companions, and four Doctors, one of whom didn’t count because she was really Time. If you’re in need of a more thorough explanation than that, we can offer this. Even if it did skimp on coherence, Series 13 did not skimp on ambition....
As we anticipate the Doctor’s next change, due this autumn in 2022’s third special, here are the past regeneration stories ranked from least to most successful. 12. Time and the Rani (1987) Colin Baker to Sylvester McCoy ‘Time and the Rani’ is all over the place. I wouldn’t say it’s the worst story ever, because while it’s a lacklustre romp remembered mainly for its camp, it isn’t mean-spirited. Its CBBC tone was imposed by the BBC after the excesses of Season 22, but it manages a genuinely good cliffhanger to its first episode, and Sylvester McCoy’s performance – while also all over the place – does contain a few moments that showed where he would later take the character....
That was it! The Thirteenth Doctor’s story has finally come to an end. And what an end it was. No toys were left in the bag. UNIT, the Daleks, the Cybermen, the Master, Rasputin, multiple Doctor incarnations, and a few old faces. Granted, the idea of said invaders being an unthreatening couple (Ellie Kemper and Rob Delaney) reluctantly attempting to recover an heirloom from the house is a bit of a twist, but a perfunctory nature prominently adorns the film’s proverbial sleeve....

What follows is a haunting trip through the town itself that eventually leads us to one of the most shocking revelations in video game history: most of Silent Hill’s horrors are manifestations of James’ psyche born from his guilt over killing his sick wife....
Everyone remembers their first horror movie. Or for me, horror adjacent movie – it was Quatermass and the Pit and I was about 10 (ages all approximations, I can’t honestly remember). Doom Patrol Episode 4 The world of magic is introduced to Doom Patrol this week with a fourth episode that, while good, is a frustrating detour from the main mission of finding the Chief, and stopping Mr. Nobody. But, as far a two-episode side adventure goes, “Cult Patrol” succeeds largely due to the arrival of Mark Sheppard as Nonstantine chaos magician Willoughby Kipling, a character straight from the comic books. Sheppard is the kind of actor who automatically injects any show he’s on with energy, and mischief, and Kipling is one those roles he seems born to play (and reunites him with Supernatural producer Jeremy Carver)....

House of the Dragon is still on track for its pre-pandemic 2022 launch window, as HBO president Casey Bloys confirmed to Deadline in a post-Emmys interview in which he also revealed that casting for the series is currently underway. Gotham Season 4 Episode 20 Well, GCPD HQ gets attacked again, it must be Thursday! It seems like one can measure how engaging an episode of Gotham will be by how much Cameron Monaghan is in it. The more Monaghan the better, and this week has plenty of Monaghan as both Jerome (sort of) and Jeremiah. You all know that a few weeks back, Jerome was killed in battle against the GCPD and Jim Gordon....
As an amateur Greaseologist who spent way, way too much time plunked in front of his television watching Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta declaring each other to be the one that the other wants on the rickety floor of the Shake Shack—part of a massive carnival set up in Rydell High’s seemingly boundless stretch of land—I used to think I was firmly in the camp of the original picture. Then something more mysterious than the identity of a certain Cool Rider happened; I started to prefer Grease 2....
However, if we’re going to have a modern conversation about these games, then we have to spend at least a little time talking about how their age and our own ages as (hopefully) maturing fans expose how immature they really were. At the risk of backpedaling before we get to really dive into that conversation, I have to say that I not only consider the GTA games (including the entries in the GTA Trilogy) to be some of the best and most important video games ever made but that Rockstar has excelled at using these games to satirize our society....
