“Version 1.1 is a free update for all Ghost of Tsushima players,” says Darren Bridges, Senior Game Designer at Sucker Punch Productions. “This update brings the launch of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, a brand-new co-op multiplayer mode inspired by Japanese mythology, as well as exciting new updates and New Game+ for our single-player campaign!” Yes, Ghost of Tsushima is getting a New Game+ mode. In it, you’ll retain all of the “Techniques, Gear, and Vanity items” you acquired in your main playthrough, but enemies will be much tougher throughout. That being said, Sucker Punch does note that you’ll still be able to modify New Game+’s difficulty level, so if you don’t feel like dealing with the extra hurdles just to see the mode’s new content (which includes a new horse) you’ll be able to tweak everything to match your challenge preferences. Of course, the other highlight of this upcoming update is the previously revealed co-op spin-off, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. As outlined in the blog, the four classes you’ll be able to choose from in Legends are the Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, and Assassin. Based on the descriptions of these classes, it basically sounds like Samurais are the tanks, Hunters are the ranged DPS, Ronin are healers, and Assassins are melee DPS that can deal a tremendous amount of damage with single blows. Fans of Tsushima‘s impressive photo mode will be happy to hear that Legends will also support the ability to stop and take a scenic screenshot. For more information about this 1.1 update’s new features (including a peek at the game’s new loadouts and NPCs) be sure to watch this breakdown trailer: This is a shockingly thorough update that could easily be released as paid DLC. Instead, Sucker Punch will release it for free to all Ghost of Tsushima players on October 16.
