Jordan Peele and his Monkeypaw Productions have conjured a new Candyman manifestation. Nia DaCosta (Little Woods) directed the film off a screenplay by Peele and Win Rosenfeld. The film is a “spiritual sequel” that “returns to the neighborhood where the legend began: the now-gentrified section of Chicago where the Cabrini-Green housing projects once stood.” The project arose after the rights—originally held by the now-defunct PolyGram Filmed Entertainment and distributed by Tri-Star—recently became available....

The latest buzzy drama from the BBC is Chloe, from creator Alice Seabright, a deliciously twisty six-parter which sees a young woman in Bristol become obsessed with a woman she follows on Instagram and insinuate herself into that woman’s social circle after she is found dead. Only it’s not as simple as that… Over the course of the series Chloe messes with our perceptions of who is doing what, and why, as our protagonist Becky Green – ostensibly a con woman, turns out to have more complicated motivations at heart....

Demon Slayer just completed Season 2, which consisted of seven episodes covering the Mugen Train Arc and 11 episodes adapting the Entertainment District Arc. Since the first half of the season repackaged material from the Demon Slayer: Mugen Train film, the hype didn’t really kick off until Episode 8, when Tanjiro Kamado and his allies venture into Yoshiwara, Tokyo’s red-light district, to hunt a demon. Or, as we eventually learned, a pair of demons....

When we last saw Diggle in the series finale of Arrow, he found a box containing an object that emitted a glowing green light. Also in the wind is the possibility that Marvel’s Black Widow, which has been removed from the theatrical release schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic, might end up streaming on Disney+. As it stands, this is pretty unlikely – a Marvel source told Variety that “pushing Black Widow affects nothing on the MCU timeline.” Given that info, it doesn’t feel like the studio would be in a rush to forgo a cinema release for its Black Widow solo film and make the film available to stream, even at an eye-wateringly high rental price via other streaming providers....

McGregor won’t be the only returning Prequel Trilogy star on the series. Hayden Christensen will also appear in Obi-Wan Kenobi, presumably as Darth Vader, although there’s always the possibility he’ll show up in a flashback or in a dream sequence instead. But even Christensen’s return isn’t quite as notable as Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse reprising their roles as Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, especially since it sets up the appearance of another MAJOR character....

While there are so many things we want to know about that game, few mysteries are more pressing or fascinating than the meaning of the Rebirth name. After all, creative director Tetsuya Nomura has already stated that there is some kind of significance to the game’s name that he can’t wait to share. So while it might be quite some time before we all understand the full, official meaning of the Rebirth name (the game isn’t scheduled to be released until “next winter”), that doesn’t mean that we can’t spend a little time speculating about what Rebirth means and why that title is so potentially significant....
